You are invited to worship this Pentecost weekend. We will hear the promise of the Holy Spirit in our Gospel reading, John 14:8-17: Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and you still do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; but if you do not, then believe me because of the works themselves. Very truly, I tell you, the one who believes in me will also do the works that I do and, in fact, will do greater works than these, because I am going to the Father. I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If in my name you ask me for anything, I will do it. “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, to be with you forever. This is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. The sale takes place today from 8:00am to 7:00pm, and tomorrow – Half-Price Day – from 8:00am to noon, at the Celebration Campus, 919 S. Washington Street. The sale includes “Drew’s Garden,” which offers a wide range of perennials, ground covers, hostas and other plants. Income generated by the plant sale will benefit a local suicide prevention organization. You also can purchase grilled hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soft drinks, and a wide range of baked goods and snack mixes from the garage sale bake sale. If you’d like to help those impacted by recent tornados, consider giving to Lutheran Disaster Response. LDR is working with those in the impacted states, including local synods, congregations and social ministry organizations, to provide immediate relief and long-term support. Gifts to "U.S. tornadoes" will be used entirely (100%) to assist those affected by tornadoes until the response is complete.

This annual event supports our Eagle’s Wings Choir. New this year: We will be selling yard art and other Haitian products to support Haiti Scholars, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides Haitian children with tuition, supplies and educational support.
